This month, around 80 Infobip volunteers gathered on Igman Mountain near Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, for a day dedicated to nature and community. In collaboration with Sarajevo-šume, our team planted 1,000 young pine trees – each one a living contribution to preserving and strengthening one of Sarajevo’s most important natural landscapes.

Often called “Sarajevo’s lungs,” Igman plays an essential role in maintaining clean air, regulating the local climate, and providing a habitat for diverse plant and animal life. Under the expert guidance of Sarajevo-šume forestry professionals, volunteers learned how to carefully plant seedlings, from digging and positioning to securing the soil for optimal growth. Pine trees naturally purify the air, stabilize the soil, and offer shelter to birds and small wildlife. These newly planted trees will grow to strengthen Igman’s ecosystem and contribute to a healthier environment for generations to come.

Each seedling planted represents an investment in a greener future, helping Igman continue to protect Sarajevo’s environment for years to come.

A special thank you goes to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to making this meaningful initiative a success.
